Here's Mrs. Plott's class doing a social emotional learning/morning meeting every day. Each day there is a different question that they talk about to get to know each other better. Way to go Mrs. Plott!

Mesa families. Here are some pictures from last night's Christmas performances. TK, Kindergarten, and First graders were adorable, and such great singers! The hard work by our teachers really paid off.

In Ms. Canright's fifth grade class, one of the daily SEL activities is a student-led morning meeting. They start their day with a question and then pull sticks for some students to share out with the class. It is a great way to learn about each other as well as discovering connections to one another. It gives students the opportunity to share some positive thinking as well as let each other know how much they appreciate their classmates. Each day a different student runs the meeting. Alex ran the last one.
Attached are screenshots of a few questions they answered last week.

Here is a way that Mrs. Frye's 6th graders make school a more positive place to be. It's called "What I like about you Wednesday!" Students choose a post it with a classmate's name on it. They write one thing they like about that particular person and give it to them at some point in the day. How cool!

Today, we had a "balloon parade," as students in Mrs. Llacuna 's and Ms. Reynoso's class learned about the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. They paraded through the office and around the school. Way to go 4th grade!

Happy Thanksgiving from Mesa Grande Elementary!
