Another way that 6th grade promotes social emotional learning is through morning greetings. Mrs. Mack greets each student by name, w/ music playing in the background, creating a positive atmosphere for all who come in contact w/ her. Students choose their method of greeting.

Here's what Ms. Hardin's Transitional Kindergarten has done for Social Emotional Learning. Students put hearts on their kindness tree. When the students perform acts of kindness, they color a heart and put it on the tree. This is one way kindness is encouraged in the classroom.

For Social Emotional Learning in first grade, Ms. Jones' class has morning meetings where they discuss positive character traits and feelings of the day. These meetings help students learn about each other, become more supportive, and build a community. Great to see!
