Mesa Families: Earlier this week we had Anthony the Magic come to Mesa to do a presentation. This show was a reward for those students who participated in our World's Finest Chocolate fundraiser. Mesa families. In third grade for social emotional learning, after lunch some do a yoga or breathing activity to help get them ready for the next half of the day. Others have the opportunity to use their classroom tickets to buy a "lunch with Teacher and 1 friend" coupon once a week. What a great school!
Jayden was this week's "Attendance Hero." He was here everyday, on time, and ready to learn. Way to go, Jayden!
Mesa families. Our staff, students and parents had an amazing kindness week. Students were able to write kindness grams, make kind bookmarks, write positive messages on the blacktop and were welcomed by staff amongst many other activities. We ended the week with the kindness cart for our staff. What a great week to be a Mesa mustang. Let’s continue to spread kindness and pass it on!
Thank you so much to all of the parents and helpers who came out today for Kindness Week. They made blankets for a children's hospital and dog toys for the animal shelter. Way to set the example, Mesa parents!
What a great morning! For Kindness Week, before school started, staff members held posters for students and their families to see as they were dropped off. The posters reminded the students how awesome they are, and how much we love them. This is why I love this school!
For 4th grade SEL, Ms. Reynoso's class learned the benefits of self-love (increased resilience, increased productivity, and decreased stress), and different ways to demonstrate self-care. Also, they wrote themselves love letters. Here's a student bravely reading it aloud.
Wednesday's "pie-in-the-face" fundraiser was a hit! We raised over $500 for field trips! Thank you to all of the students whose pies missed Mr. Kirk. The students, and Mr. Kirk, really seemed to have fun. Thank you to all of the parent volunteers for helping out.

Daniel received a positive referral today because he always has a positive attitude, he does his work, asks questions, and helps others when possible. His teacher says he is a fantastic learner, and a joy to have in class. Great job!
